The Boycott of Israel back on the agenda

A teachers' union looks set to reignite the row over the boycott of Israel, which divided university lecturers last year and triggered an international storm.

The National Union of Teachers (NUT) is due to discuss a motion at its Easter conference that takes a pro-Palestinian stance on the occupation. It calls on its union to buy educational material produced by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign for use by students in schools.

The motion, which marks the 60th anniversary of the "unresolved injustice" of the "banishment of 750,000 Palestinians from their homelands", says that the campaign material "promotes an understanding of the history of this most protracted dispute in the Middle East".

I think this is the only way Israel can be pressured to stop hurting the Palestinians and the chances for peace in the ME. They are very wary of their image, and they are very wary of any economic implications of the boycott. So let's boycott Israel, what are we waiting for ?

Any chance that there will be a mention of the close to one million Arab Jews who were expelled from the lands in which they lived for thousands of years, in 1948? Of course not. And when these millions refugees came to Israel, they were absorbed, unlike the Pseudostinians whom the Arabs allowd to languish in camps for years to use as weapons. 60 years have passes since. The Jews will not return to Arab countries and the Arabs will not return to Israel. That sounds a bit fair to me.

BTW, before you boycott Israel, you should be aware that:

The cell phone was developed in Israel by Motorola, which has its largest development center in Israel.

Most of the Windows NT operating system was developed by Microsoft-Israel.

The Pentium MMX Chip technology was designed in Israel at Intel.

Voice mail technology was developed in Israel.

Both Microsoft and Cisco built their only R&D facilities outside the US in Israel.

The AOL Instant Messenger was developed in 1996 by four young Israelis.

Thats a hell of a lot more than the Pseudostinians ever gave to the world. If you're going to boycott Israel, do it right. No more cellphones for you.

Bar Kochba,

I have a solution for this. let's move these companies to Canada.

Since Canada is your country, you wouldn't mind I guess.
