Judicial Burqa in the trial of Rachel Corrie's killing by Israeli soldiers

The Israeli soldier at the controls of a bulldozer that crushed to death 23-year-old Rachel Corrie in Gaza in March 2003 is due to give evidence tomorrow in the civil lawsuit brought by the American activist's family.
However the judge hearing the case in Haifa has ruled that, for security reasons, the soldier can testify anonymously from behind a screen, denying Cindy and Craig Corrie the opportunity to face the man who directly caused their daughter's death.

That's ironic because ethics inspired by judaic religious tradition focuses on the face as a metaphor for humanity and a central point in the moral sentiment.

Israeli troops deliberately shooting Palestinian children and boys

At least 10 Palestinian children have been shot and wounded by Israeli troops in the past three months while collecting rubble in or near the "buffer zone" created by Israel along the Gaza border, in a low-intensity offensive on the fringes of the blockaded Palestinian territory.

Israeli soldiers are routinely shooting at Gazans well beyond the unmarked boundary of the official 300 metre-wide no-go area, rights groups say.

30% of the boys injured are under 18.

This has been all along a consistent policy of the zionist entity, targeting young Palestinian men under the false pretext that they are involved in armed groups. However, Israel's army own statistics for the 2000-2003 period, at the height of the second intifada, show that Israel is especially targeting non combatant Palestinian boys between 10 and 34 years of age.

UN report: Israeli killing of US citizen on Mavi Marmara was execution

The report of the fact-finding mission of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) on the Israeli attack on the Gaza flotilla released last week shows conclusively, for the first time, that US citizen Furkan Dogan and five Turkish citizens were murdered execution-style by Israeli commandos.

The report reveals that Dogan, the 19-year-old US citizen of Turkish descent, was filming with a small video camera on the top deck of the Mavi Marmara when he was shot twice in the head, once in the back and in the left leg and foot and that he was shot in the face at point blank range while lying on the ground.

The report says Dogan had apparently been "lying on the deck in a conscious or semi-conscious, state for some time" before being shot in his face.
