If The World Could Vote

Check for yourself the results globally and country by country. You can actually cast your vote.

This in no way means that Obama is popular, what it means for sure is that the world is tired and exhausted of the neoconist Bush years, and desperately want some change. Will there be change ? We still have to see...But better vote for an improbable change than for a highly probable repetition of the last eight years.

Congratulations to every one. Obama's victory will mean a lot of hard work for you because you will no longer be able to blame all the world's problem on neocons.

What happens when Obama pressures Israel to make all its concessions, and the Palestinians still reject the offer?

Its easy to vote when you don’t have to live with the consequences of that vote, and with such a paucity of choice its what the Americans call a "no brainer". However I think we both know that if Obama was going to actually change anything of any meaning he would have been stopped before now. Mind you there is a little voice in the back of my head which is reminding me of the voting irregularities last time around, and I can't help but wonder if today's news was all part of a long plan...

when you say that this does not mean Obama is popular, you are missing the biggest story of the decade.

not sure Obama is the change we are all waiting for ...

Wolfie - I don't understand how you can prejudge Obama's effictiveness already? Paucity of choice? At least 6 top people ran in Democratic party and another 6 in Republican party. Obama beat out a crowded field of competitors that included - over the last 2 years:
- 2 people worth over $100 million each (McCain & Romney(
- wife of a former president
- most popular mayor in America

Randy,
While the world voted for McCain at the rate of 12%, Israel voted for mc Cain atthe rate of 35%. The number of voters is over 800, which is pretty much in the high average compared to the participation of other countries.

Sophia - does your statistic imply that 65% of Israel supported Obama? That is a higher percentage than even in the USA.

Randy old chap, I'm surprised you've not noticed that you now live in an Oligarchy devoid of any real politics. As do we sadly.

Sophia, I've been reading some interesting stats on that lately. Apparently younger, more observant American Jews voted McCain whilst the older Jewish voters leaned towards Obama. Make of that what you will.

Randy,
One thing zionism does very well: Riding the wave. Another thing is that you don't know how to read statistics

Wolfie,
I have come across this info also. My opinion is that older Jews 60+ are more liberal. The 60+ are the kibbutz generation and the socialist dream for Israel. The new generation is more radicalised from a religious pespective, more extremist and less pluralistic, and has no other social values than the materialist values of greed of the neoliberal order that is falling apart.

can you please explain how I misinterpreted the statistic? I bet you cannot.
