Israel, like Iran, attacks peaceful protesters

For years, the village of Bil'in has been the scene for weekly peaceful protests against the Israeli apartheid wall depriving Palestinian from their livelihood. And for years the Israeli army has been attacking protesters, killing some of them and intimidating the rest. The Palestinian village of Bil'in submits case to a Quebec court against Canadian companies involved in illegal building in occupied West Bank

In a continuation of their struggle for justice in the face of unlawful appropriation of their land, the people of Bil’in village yesterday commenced legal proceedings before the Superior Court of Quebec against Green Park International Inc. and Green Mount International Inc. The defendants are Canadian corporations registered in the Province of Quebec who have been involved in constructing, marketing and selling residential units in the illegal Jewish-Israeli settlement of Modi’in Illit in the occupied West Bank, on the land of the village of Bil’in.

The land in question has been appropriated by the Israeli military authorities in violation of the laws of occupation. The defendants, on their own behalf and as de facto agents of the State of Israel, are constructing residential units on this Palestinian land for the purpose of housing Israeli settlers. The petition, filed by the Village Council’s lawyer in Canada, Mark Arnold, demonstrates that in so doing, the defendants are aiding, abetting, assisting and conspiring with Israel, the Occupying Power in the West Bank, in carrying out an illegal act.

Nobel Peace prize winner hurt by IOF's rubber coated steel bullets as she was protesting the wall at the palestinian village of Bil'in

Mairead Corrigan McGuire received the Nobel Peace prize in 1976 for her work for peace in Northern Ireland. She was recently participating in a conference in the village of Bil'in when she joined to the weekly held peaceful protest against the wall. This protest has been going on for a long time uniting every week come 100 peace activists, Israelis, Palestinians, and international activists. And every week the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF)react by harsh intimidation, sometimes shooting rubber coated steel bullets at protesters. The rubber coated steel bullets came into question many times as they are not only meant to repel a protest but they can kill at close range.

Here is the video of Ms McGuire found on Mont Asbury:
