BERLIN (Reuters) - Two Israeli warplanes and a German navy vessel have clashed off the Lebanese coast, the Defense Ministry in Berlin said on Wednesday without giving further details.
Germany daily Der Tagesspiegel earlier on Wednesday quoted a junior German defense minister as telling a parliamentary committee that two Israeli F-16 fighters flew low over the German ship and fired two shots.
The jets also released infra-red countermeasures to ward off any rocket attack, the paper quoted him as saying.
The minister did not say when the incident happened or what had caused it, the paper said."I can confirm that there was an incident," a ministry spokesman told Reuters on Wednesday.

I can't find a link right now, but wasn't it France (Lebanese peacekeeping contingent) that only very recently warned that continued low-flying, Isareli buzz-planes would shortly be treated as "threats"? And that appropriate action would be forthcoming should the practice not cease - soon.
I think it's a form of Nationalistic, juvenile foot-stomping in response to a recent 'chastisement'.

It was Alain pellegrini, the French general who leads the UNIFIL in Lebanon who issued the threats. Chirac refused to comment but said that France was working with the UN to enforce UN resolution which calls for the end of such flights.
And Zino-fascist Israelis call the Palestinians "political children." Now tell me, what is particularly adult about low-flying Israeli pilots taking shots at peacekeeping boats?
Must be part of the IDF's "win friends and influence people" initiative.

So no truth in the rumour in NATO forces that they are an ill-disciplined rabble who wouldn't last five minutes in a European conflict.
On a more serious note : This might be a good moment for the Israeli people to start howling at their military to behave themselves before international relations turn really sour. Now would not be a good time for another SS Liberty incident.

If there is a real incident, someone killed or or else they can always get away with an internal investigation, blocking an external one and claiming that the IDF was in fact targeting Hezbollah.
They are used to these methods.
