I am very very upset since I read this new item today: 'Obama names US envoy to the Muslim world'.
Obama is unnerving me by proving himself dumber than Bush when it comes to anything Muslim. Can you imagine the following title: 'Obama names US envoy to the Christian world' or 'Obama names US envoy to the Jewish world'.
First: there is o such a thing as a unified Muslim world. Obama must know this since he lived in a Muslim country. Indonesia is so different from Saudi Arabia, as an example...
Second: I see some racist underpinnings to this. Lets put all Muslims under one heading, they are all the same.
Third: Also there is a centralized hierarchy for lets say Christian Catholics, there is still no such a thing as a Christian world...While there is no centralized religious hierarchy in Islam...
Fourth: Obama announces this ridiculous news item while there is an offensive going on in Afghanistan...
Fifth: even though, as one commentator commented on this post, the envoy is to the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) which is 58 members body, and not to the 'islamic world' which is a virtual entity that exists only in the mind of Bin Laden and those who are waging a war on terror, it is still an empty gesture since the Confernce is a body of diverse and diverging interests with no real impact on Muslims and Islam, and since Obama still has to address the problems of the middle east and not of Islam and Muslims per se...And this measure from Obama is by any means a diversion meant to hide his inaction on Palestine
Last but not least: Obama is playing in Bin Laden's hands in seeing the Muslim world as one unified entity...
And like everything that has Obama's trademark, this is a nice empty gesture...
US public diplomacy still ineffectual among Arab-Muslim countries participating at the OIC. And that is what is missing from Obama's diplomacy toward Muslims...concerns for the middle east and Arabs...
The center that sponsors the dialogue between the US and the 'Muslim world' is a center that advocates Israel only interests and war on Iran and the Palestinians...
I am not seeing US-Muslim relations set on a better path soon...And by the way look who is cheering.

The Fort Hood Tragedy: A convert to Islam was a close friend of the shooter
First: A touching testimony from a soldier about the psychological effects of war.
However, the disinformation machine has started. Nothing can excuse the actions of this miserable man but we will be unable to learn from this multifaceted tragedy because the disinformation machine will get us away from the truth. Including this piece of hypocrisy from this unkown convert who was too close to this miserable man, so close that he saw it coming and he didn't do anything...
Islam's Achille's heel is its proselytism. Keep the door open to converts exploiting psychologically vulnerable people and you can be sure of more tragedies to come...
While the authorities say they cannot yet tell us why an Army psychiatrist would go on a shooting rampage at Fort Hood in Texas, we do know the sorts of stories he had been dealing with as he tried to help those returning from Iraq and Afghanistan readjust to life outside the war zone. A soldier’s mind can be just as dangerous to himself, and to those around him, as wars fought on traditional battlefields.

Like Sarko, like son: Cartoons, Politics, and Satire in Sarkoland
The President's son – who oozes charm and confidence – became engaged this month to one of the wealthiest young women in France. His fiancée is Jessica Sebaoun-Darty, heiress to the family which owns the Darty electrical goods stores – the French equivalent of Currys. Mme Sebaoun-Darty is Jewish. Persistent media rumours – finally denounced yesterday as false – claimed that Jean Sarkozy intended to convert to Judaism before his marriage. On the basis of these rumours, a radical cartoonist-columnist in Charlie Hebdo suggested earlier this month that Jean Sarkozy was an opportunist who would "go far in life". The Sarkozy family and his fiancée's family threatened to sue the magazine for alleged anti-Semitism. The magazine's editor asked the veteran cartoonist, Siné to retract. He replied: "I would rather cut off my balls."Remember, the magazine's editor was the one who vehemently defended the freedom of the press to publish the Danish cartoons and his magazine was one among the first to reproduce them.

Puppet Politics
The US foreign policy can be viewed as an enterprise consisting of installing puppet governments wherever they think they, and their ally Israel, have vital interests. It happens also that American foreign policy is now focused on the interests of Israel. It is also focused on those countries who oppose the unbridled expansionnist colonialism Israel has been following in its regional and international politics, and not interests limited to survival and nationhood for the victims of the Holocaust, which they supposedly claim to have.
The US thus helped to install puppets as rulers in many Arab countries, strenghtening the hold of Israel on the palestinians and producing the absence of any reasonable solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Puppets are in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon,Iraq, etc... Even Bashar El-Assad is a candidate, but they don't want him. After all, it is the masters who choose their puppets...
Now the US has turned to Muslim countries outside the Middle East but of vital geopolitical significance to the Midlle East. They have just reintsalled their puppets in Somalia.
The dangers of such foreign policy is that it creates resentment and hatred. It strips people from their dignity as a group and a society and discourages their free will. It leads to lower self-esteem derived from the feeling the citizen of these countries have of not commanding respect, and, of course, from resentment and hatred. Resentement feeds terrorism in the sense that it supresses positive mobilisation around a constructive project and therefore a true resistance.
Lets suppose that Terrorism exists by itself, outside any foreign policy and any resentment, as an abnormal phenomenon of failed states, as the US pretends, and I am not denying that this kind of terrorism exist ed actually in Afghanisan, it may be easy to fight it. But the kind of generic terrorism that the US is fighting is derived not from failed states but mostly from US failed foreign policies. Is it then necessary to fight a terrorism willingly provoked by these foreign policies ? And if so can anybody tell me how to end this kind of terrorism ? I am just wondering because it appears to me that to end this kind of terrorism requires that people around the globe, but especially in Muslim and Middle Eastern countries, must be totally submitted to USrael or must be exterminated. Submission or Death. It reminds me of a slogan I saw on Cuban highways 'Socialismo O Muerte'. There is no other alternative.
What kind of foreign policy is this ? This is no foreign policy. This is madness.
