OBL Dead
Osama Bin Laden is dead killed by a special unit of US forces in Pakistan. He was killed in his compound located in an urban area 30 miles from Islamabad.
Saudi Arabia and Pakistan must have known about his whereabouts during all these years. Saudi Arabia is in a difficult position now in the ME, with all those revolutions at its door, and badly needs US protection for the survival of its backward monarchy. Bin Laden is the price for this unconditional protection.
Bin Laden leaves behind him a trail of murders, wars, violence and multiple religious sectarianisms: Muslims versus Christians, Sunnis versus Shias. He discredited Muslims and Arabs all over the world and served well the US and Israel's imperial interests in the 'greater middle east area'.

Now, turning to the US, I also believe that in the wake of any US military operation, we are fed a large amount of lies, fabrication, sc fi scenarios, and exaggerations.
I mean, other than Bin Laden has been killed by US troops, I am skeptical of the rest.
Let us begin with the one about that Bin Laden received a "Muslim burial at sea." I mean, do they think that Arabs/Muslims are idiots? Burial at sea? Is that a new military term for tossing his body from the air? Burial at sea? Who are you kidding? Just say what happened: most likely, soldiers scrawled slogans on his body, and then yelled: Allahu Akbar, you motherfucker, and then tossed his body in the water.
Then the story that I instantly wrote about yesterday: the notion that the find was the product of painstaking hard work and research by US intelligence agents. I remember that we were told how US intelligence agents in Iraq did a family tree and complicated charts of the relatives and bodyguards of Saddam to locate him. Later we learned that: a bodyguard of Saddam turned himself in to US troops and asked for the bounty. There is now a beginning of insinuations US troops found him due to a tip. Here is the beginning of the story in the US press. First we were told that a courier was spotted by US agents. Now we are told that Pakistani agents were the first to spot him.
We were first told that a man in the compound took a woman as a human shield and that she was killed. When I now hear a "human shield" story, I know that I am about to be lied to by Israeli or US military to justify yet another killing of civilians. Later we were told that Bin Laden was the one who took a woman as a human shield. I am sure that the human shield story will disappear later. Just remember the original early story of Pat Tillman: I mean some in the US military are experienced in movie scripts.
To their credit, Politico has noticed the various inconsistencies and lies and the changes in the early accounts. And `Abdul-Bari `Atwan of Al-Quds Al-`Arabi, who knew Bin Laden and liked him says in his editorial today that an aide to Bin Laden said that he requested that his bodyguards shoot him if he ever faced killing by enemies. `Atwan leans to that theory for his killing: that his own bodyguard shot him. I think this is very likely and may emerge later. Is that why the body was thrown in the sea? Because Americans want to believe that an American bullet killed him? Does this matter? Well, yes.
The US has lied so much that it is understandable that it is not believed by Muslims especially that Arabs/Muslims can't celebrate the American celebrations of their killings, even if the person killed is Bin Laden: who may not be loved by Arabs and Muslims (and who clearly failed to win support among the masses) but any US president is hated more than Bin Laden. That is the key element to help you understand the complicated Arab/Muslim attitudes to Bin Laden and his death. This explains the stupid foolish statement by Isma`il Haniyyah who called Bin Laden "mujahid" (holy struggler).
Oh, and now Fox News is giving credit where it is due: it crediting torture for locating Bin Laden.
And the stupidity can be seen in Arab media too: New TV who I generally like, yesterday aired a report on the possible successors to Bin Laden. It said that Abu Zubayda is the most likely to emerge as the key commander of Al-Qa`idah. Can some one tell New TV that Abu Zubyayda won't be able to assume his duties because he is sitting in Guantanamo?

Notice how converts to Islam can be found in most terror plots. Follow the trials of the plotters, those who get the lighter sentences are informants who, most of the time, instigated, trained, and helped terror operations with logistics and more... Was Babar one of the few real Muslims willing to work with the US against other Muslims in such a way teaching them how to plot, bomb and then be caught? Was this the reason why most terror plots had to rely on converts?

A remark from the sentencing judge that Babar "began co-operating even before his arrest", has raised the possibility, supported by other circumstantial evidence obtained by the Guardian, that he may have been an informant for the US government before his detention by the FBI in April 2004.
Babar facilitated the London bombers' knowledge of bomb-making when he invited around a dozen British jihadists to attend a camp that he had helped set up in north-west Pakistan in the summer of 2003.
In a debriefing with US law enforcement agents in 2004, Babar told US prosecutors about Khan, whom he knew as "Ibrahim". British terrorism investigators showed Babar an unclear surveillance photo of Khan in August 2004, but Babar failed to identify him.
He has said that when he saw pictures of Khan in newspapers after the bombings he alerted the US authorities straight away: "I told them [the American authorities] that was the person that was Ibrahim. I had mentioned Ibrahim before July 2005."
After his guilty plea in 2004, Babar spent a good proportion of his four and a half years outside the regular prison system. He flew to testify in trials in the UK and in Canada and met law enforcement officers from around the world.

It is after September 2001 that Babar's story begins to fray at the edges. What kind of person would fly to Pakistan to support the Taliban just after an al-Qaida operation nearly killed their own mother? As one lawyer in a 2006 British terrorism trial put to Babar while he was in the witness box: "Someone who does that either is so appalled by the acts of al-Qaida that they are going to go and spy for America on jihadis – or they are a very hardline jihadi indeed."
There are also questions about how he was able to fly from the UK to Pakistan and then on to the US without being stopped or questioned, even though his ITN interview about killing Americans, which offered US security officials plenty of identifying details, had been syndicated on television stations around the world.
During the various trials at which Babar made an appearance, it was also revealed he was able to visit a US consulate in Pakistan many times and apply for a green card for the Pakistani wife he married while on jihad duty in 2002, without a question being asked.

Ex-MI5 chief: Response to 9/11 was 'huge overreaction'
In an interview with the Guardian, Stella Rimington calls al-Qaida's attack on the US "another terrorist incident" but not qualitatively different from any others.
"That's not how it struck me. I suppose I'd lived with terrorist events for a good part of my working life and this was as far as I was concerned another one," she says.
In common with Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller, who retired as MI5's director general last year, Rimington, who left 12 years ago, has already made it clear she abhorred "war on terror" rhetoric and the government's abandoned plans to hold terrorism suspects for 42 days without charge.
Today, she goes further by criticising politicians including Jacqui Smith, the home secretary, for trying to outbid each other in their opposition to terrorism and making national security a partisan issue.

I, personally, don't see any wrong in what is written above. I think what is wrong is to cast such a statement as anti patriotic. 9/11 was an act of barbarism. But to blame it only on outside forces and silence any blame on US foreign policy is suspicious. Blaming the tragedy of 9/11 only on the outside, and silencing any blame directed at the government, demonstrates the will of the US government and US politicians to instrumentalise a tragedy in order to hide the real problems inside while making political gain over honest dissent. Indeed, the US economy is faltering at the speed of light, the war budget has reached monstruous proportions, the economic gap between citizen is growing wider every day, civil liberties are down, and so on...
It is really shameless to use a tragedy like 9/11 to wage wars outside the country casting the enemy as an evil while reigning on people inside the country and increasing tyranny.
The purpose of a good sermon isn't to placate, ease, and make people comfortable. A dangerous religion isn't one that challenges people and makes them squirm. Makes them angry. A dangerous religion is one that is too amicable to what you already think, one that pats you on the head and sends you forth in assurance of your own righteousness. If you want to search for "traitors" in the pulpit, turn your eye toward those who never find anything wrong in the actions of this nation.

Italy's former president to Corriere della Sera: 9/11 is an inside job

I don't know why this troubling information is in the list of the 'Most read' on The Guardian website today November 14, 2007.
What I know is that this kind of information has been repeated many times including this article which appeared in the French journal, Le Monde, in April 2007, and later translated in Truthout.org.

Bin Laden's Last September Message: Secrets, Lies, and Videotapes
Dave Lucas posted this interesting entry about the latest Bin laden video aired on the occasion of September 11th.
According to the source article, a small private intelligence company that monitors Islamist terrorist groups was able to obtain the Bin Laden video on september 7th, before its official release by Al-Qaeda. The company "notified the Bush administration of its secret acquisition." It sent a link to the video that was on a private page on its website to "two senior officials on the condition that the officials not reveal they had it until the al-Qaeda release."
"Within 20 minutes, a range of intelligence agencies had begun downloading it from the company's Web site. By midafternoon that day, the video and a transcript of its audio track had been leaked from within the Bush administration to cable television news and broadcast worldwide."
It is evident from this story that the Bush administration favors the political use of Al-Qaida videos, over other considerations, mainly security, since the company and the intelligence community judged the early diffusion of the video as alerting Al-Qaida to the anomaly and maybe cutting an important link to Al-Qaida. The white house rushed to reassure the intelligence community that the move does not affect its intelligence operations against Al-qaida.
My question however is how a small security company headed by a 44 year old "Iraqi-born Israeli citizen whose father was executed by Saddam Hussein in the 1960s", and who "has made the investigation of terrorist groups a passionate quest"...since only 2002, can actually have access to this kind of material and by which means ? Her competitors are asking the same question.
All this private security business and premonitions about terrorists are making me ask questions. And of course the citizenship of the company's director, her connection to Iraq where both terror and security businesses are thriving, and her sudden passion for tracking terrorist groups in 2002, and only the Islamist ones, are none of my business and yours.

An old story made new: Israel's role in the Entebbe hijacking and in 9/11
Reading Angry Arab today I found a link to this article.
It has been seen as a daring raid by crack Israeli troops to rescue dozens of their countrymen held at the mercy of hijackers.
But newly released documents contain a claim that the 1976 rescue of hostages, kidnapped on an Air France flight and held in Entebbe in Uganda, was not all it seemed.
A UK government file on the crisis, released from the National Archives, contains a claim that Israel itself was behind the hijacking.
An unnamed contact told a British diplomat in Paris that the Israeli Secret Service, the Shin Bet, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) collaborated to seize the plane.
Israel's role in 9/11 has also been questioned but I guess, as in the Entebbe case, we will never find out exactly what happened, only few forgotten documents revealed now and then with no will to connect them or to investigate.
Recently we were watching 'The Last King of Scotland' a movie about Ugandan president Idi Amin Dada in which one gets to see a scene from the Entebbe hijacking and highly mediatised Israeli rescue operation. My husband remebered the coverage of the event at the time and reminded me that one of the main factors in the success of the operation was that it was Israel who helped build the airport at Entebbe, so they knew the configuration very well.
Well, no wonder why Israel is miserably failing when attacking Lebanon becuase this is the only military operation they haven't been able to rehearse and stage as they want. And no wonder why Israel is so miserably failing militarily except when it comes to attacking Palestinian and Lebanese civilians because their might rests on dirty operations performed by their secret service and not on their courage in the battlefield.
In years from now we will maybe get to know that 9/11 wasn't exactly as we were told but it will be too late. And who cares ? Because, after all, we already know that the current fighting in northern Lebanon isn't exactly what the Sanyura government is telling Lebanese and the world. We already know that the Sunni extremist militia the sanyura/Hariri government is fighting is a Hariri tool, and nobody cares. Not even the UN who is busy setting a special tribunal for the assassination of a rich and corrupt man who brought his country to the edge of civil war again and whose son is continuing the destructive mission with the help of the US/UK/France and the UN, and nobody cares...The other lesson one might extract from this story and from the actual news in the Occupied Palestinian territories is that the worst ennemies of the Palestinian people since the Naqba have been the Palestinian people themselves and that the worst tyranny is the tyranny exerted from the inside...Palestinians and Lebanese should meditate this...

Israel's role in 9/11 has also been questioned but I guess, as in the Entebbe case, we will never find out exactly what happened, only few forgotten documents revealed now and then with no will to connect them or to investigate.
Recently we were watching 'The Last King of Scotland' a movie about Ugandan president Idi Amin Dada in which one gets to see a scene from the Entebbe hijacking and highly mediatised Israeli rescue operation. My husband remebered the coverage of the event at the time and reminded me that one of the main factors in the success of the operation was that it was Israel who helped build the airport at Entebbe, so they knew the configuration very well.
Well, no wonder why Israel is miserably failing when attacking Lebanon becuase this is the only military operation they haven't been able to rehearse and stage as they want. And no wonder why Israel is so miserably failing militarily except when it comes to attacking Palestinian and Lebanese civilians because their might rests on dirty operations performed by their secret service and not on their courage in the battlefield.
In years from now we will maybe get to know that 9/11 wasn't exactly as we were told but it will be too late. And who cares ? Because, after all, we already know that the current fighting in northern Lebanon isn't exactly what the Sanyura government is telling Lebanese and the world. We already know that the Sunni extremist militia the sanyura/Hariri government is fighting is a Hariri tool, and nobody cares. Not even the UN who is busy setting a special tribunal for the assassination of a rich and corrupt man who brought his country to the edge of civil war again and whose son is continuing the destructive mission with the help of the US/UK/France and the UN, and nobody cares...The other lesson one might extract from this story and from the actual news in the Occupied Palestinian territories is that the worst ennemies of the Palestinian people since the Naqba have been the Palestinian people themselves and that the worst tyranny is the tyranny exerted from the inside...Palestinians and Lebanese should meditate this...

From prominent political figures in the US to buildings, strategical targets, Israel, and practically everything else, Khaled Shaikh Muhammed's might seems infinite and even more powerful than Dick Cheney's. Not only he is responsible practically for everything but he is the Deus Ex Machina, a proof that Al Qaida exists as a political and military organisation, and not a mere loose association of criminals, determined to wage a long war against USrael and the west, and worhty of the sacrifice of our young army men and women and of our civil rights and freedoms.
I am relieved, now we can sleep well. Except, I am not stupid. For to sleep well I need cross testimonies, facts, independant investigations, and an international tribunal. Aren't we all concerned by what has been portrayed to us over the years as an international network of terror ? So why is it the US only that has the right to interrogate and try Al Qaida's mastermind ? And I think all these passages masked in his testimony are a smokescreen. I mean, the man is in their hands, hidden from the entire world, they can make him say what they want, thanks to torture techniques approved by the Bush administration and micromanaged by Rumsfeld, so why blacken passages in his testimony ? Just to make the lie look truthful ?

What Israel Knew before 9/11
There was a video from Fox News circulating on the web on the subject but was later removed from Fox website. This lenghty and well researched article is a must. I was able to read it thanks to a friend who has a subscription to CounterPunch (Thanks M.). You can also read the story about getting the article published and all the 'obstruction' by the US media.
I am taking the liberty to make it available to my relatively small readership first because my blog is not commercial, I don't make profit from it, and second because I think it is important to make this information available when we realise that 90 % of journalism* derives from official sources, official declarations, media communiqués, etc...and that there is actually very little investigative journalism like the article I am linking to here and published by Counterpunch.
Most pro-zionist blogs have on their front page the image of WTC towers burning on 9/11. Zionist bloggers and commentators boast about Israel being the only friend of the US. Well, most of the time friendships are motivated by material interests. The Israeli state's interests, as seen by those who refuse any compromise with the Palestinians, namely the old and new likud (Kadima) and a sizeable part of the left, not to mention the extreme right, are in keeping an all time ally and military power like the US as an unconditional ally, especially after the fall of the soviet union and the rethinking and reshaping of the old cold war alliances. Logically, the US, the only military superpower emerging from the end of the cold war and the defeat of the soviet union, should have been able to impose peace in the Middle East. But it didn't, and the whole set of terror and the 'war on terror' became a huge profit for Israel who is waging an extermination war on Palestinians under the passive watch of the entire world busy with the 'war on terror'.
Let us for a moment pause and examine what role Israel might have played and still play in the defining event of the present war on terror, 9/11. This is of extreme importance because even though we should dismiss conspiracy theories as they are being served to us, full of nonsense and propaganda trying to lure us from real problems, we should keep a critical eye on any evidence related to 9/11 our governments and the submissive corporate owned media try to hide from us .

In Defence of Equal Competing Chances for Conspiracy Theories
I kmow that I am making some eyebrows raise here but, please, before dismissing this post and conspiracy theories alltogether, read Stef at Famous for 15 Megapixels.
I think the problem with the dismissal of conspiracy theories on the events related to 7/7 and 9/11 is that they are dismissed in favour of an official narrative which has all the ingredients of conspiracy theories. So, why adopt one set of conspiracy theories and dismiss the other ?
